My popular culture topic is how people put everything that is going on in their life on Facebook.  I believe this has kind of become a ritual for people because they want people to know what is going on in their life.  People also make it a ritual to get on Facebook every day.  Putting so much on Facebook can also be stereotyped.  With people so much on their Facebook people stereotype people just because what they put on their site.  I believe stereotyping is kind of like judging people and people judge other people all the time just because what they put on their Facebook.

            These theories describe my topic by how people put things on their Facebook.  With things going on different people’s lives, they feel like they need to put certain things on their site for example if someone has a baby they put pretty much everything about it on their Facebook for people to see or read.  With people doing this they turn it into a ritual because they feel like they have to keep their friends on Facebook updated.  I feel a lot of men judge women when they add pictures of their bellies when they are pregnant.  For example my friend was pregnant and she added a picture a couple days before she gave birth so she was big and my boyfriend and his friends were judging her.  Boys don’t really understand what women go through when they are pregnant they just see the picture and they judge.

            The insight I gain from this is that people judge everyone and you just can’t stop that.  Everyone every day gets stereotyped.  It has become part of our nature these days.  Especially with so much of peoples information out there on the internet everyone talks about everyone and people turn this kind of stuff a ritual just to find out the gossip.  This will never stop; it’s just how people are.  I think people are becoming to obsessed with the internet but that is what the internet is doing to people
